1.
Naval Children: Admission of naval children in NCS (V) is governed by the existing NES policy viz 'No naval child is denied admission in NCSs. Naval children coming from other NCSs are granted admission without any admission test. However children coming from schools other than NCSs, are given an admission test to ascertain their level of performance so that necessary remedial measures be taken if necessary.

A suitable programme of admission is drawn up for admission of naval children in station. Wide publicity through NHQ Notice/DNG is given to apprise the naval community about the admission programme of NCS(V). NHQ (DNE) arranges the issue of an IG in Feb every year for out-station personnel coming on transfer to Vizag to project the admission requirement of their ward to the Principal, NCS(V) by 31 Mar.

Non-naval Children: Admission of all non- Naval children is governed by the following guidelines:-
 
(a) Pre-school Classes:
1.
Child has to be 3 years as on 31st March of the year of admission.
2.
Distance of residence to be not more than 7 Kms. from the school.
3.
Whether elder brother/sister is already studying in the school.
4.
Parent is an alumni.
5.
Parent is a transferable Central Govt employee with at least one transfer during the preceding seven year.
6.
Child's parent(s) is a handicapped/physically disabled person.
7.
Child's parent(s) is in a position to positively contribute in conduct of school activities or likely to be of help in improving the school's functioning.
(b)
Pre-primary Classes : Child has to be 4 years as on 31st March of the year of admission.
(c)
All short-listed children are to be observed by a Committee comprising of the Principal, Vice Principal and one teacher. The Committee is to draw up the panel of children to be admitted in NCS(V).
(d)
There shall be no admission test for admission to KG or Nursery classes. However, Date of Birth certificate is required for the admission.
(e)
Std. I to XII. The admission to these classes will be done strictly depending upon the vacancies existing in each class. The applications for admission to these are to be screened by a Committee comprising the Director, Mgr and the Principal, primarily on the criteria, mentioned in Sub Sub Paras 3(a)(i)-3(a)(vii) above Thereafter, the admission test is to be administered to assess the suitability of the student. Admission is to granted based on merit in the Admission Test.
(f)
Std XI : Admission of non-naval children in Std XI in NCS(V) will be governed purely on the availability of seats and merit of the student in Std X Board Exam.
(g)
Admission of Army, Air Force Children on Reciprocal System. Army /Air Force children may be granted seats under 'Reciprocal System of Admission' are to be treated on par with the children of counterpart naval personnel in all respects.
(h)
All admissions (KG to Std XII) of Naval children will be approved by the Chairman, Managing Committee, NCS(V).
