Felicitation of Std X and Std XII(2010-2011) Students
Felicitation Function

The students of NCS(G) have always excelled with this meritorious performance in academic as well as other extra curricular activities. The performance of the students in the CBSE Board exams March 2011 was excellent. Felicitation programme was held on July 2011. The Chairman of the school Cmde A Venugopal and Vice-Chairman Cdr. K. V. Mahadevan graced the occasion.

Std XII: Of the 62 students who appeared in the exams, 23 students passed with distinction. 5 students scored above 90%. 37 students got First class. Susanna Thomas secured 1st position with 94.2%, 2nd position Sarandha Sharma with 93.6%- and 3rd position Sheena Mohan 92.8%. Susanna Thomas topped in Maths with 97%, Physics –95%, Chemistry– 95% and Biology- 95%

Std X : Of the 84 students who appeared in the examination, 26 passed with a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 10. The CGPA is an overall indicative percentage of marks introduced by CBSE w.e.f. March 2010. Master Gaurav Singh Parihar was conferred with the Best All Round Student Award.

NCS has always aimed at drawing out latent inherent values within each child. Our school has thrived to provide all the support needed. Year 2011-2012 started with the spectacular results of Std. XII & X, followed by a lot of achievements in academics ad well as extracurricular.


INVESTITURE OF STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council for the academic year 2011-2012 took an oath of office and were presented with sashes and badges at the Investiture Ceremony held on the July ‘11 in the School Activity Hall in the presence of the Chairman of the school Cmde Ajay A Venugopal. Vice-Chairman Cdr. K. V. Mahadevan was also present.

A.Science Olympiad: International Olympiad of Science is aimed at enhancing the level of school students beyond their regular studies by paving the way for them to go international.
Our school secured the “Best Participating School Trophy” in Science Olympiad held in 2010. 153 students from classes 2nd -12th had participated, out of which students from the following classes secured the 1st rank in the state of Goa, ie.Class 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 12.

B.Science Talent Search Exam: The State Council of Educational Research and Training Goa conducted Science Talent search examination in the academic year 2010. The following students of Std X won the scholarship of Rs. 2500 each :Parinishtha Yadav, Ankit Mallik, Prafful Mamgain

C.INSPIRE AWARD: The government of India through the Ministry of Science and Technology has instituted the ‘Inspire Award’ for Innovative research based Science project. 2 students from our school were awarded and were presented with Rs.5000/-. Their projects were exhibited at Goa Science Centre, Miramar.
1) Vasu Mohan Gupta (VIII A): ‘Is terra farming possible on other planets’.
2)Tanmay Prasad (XI A): “Green Roads-Electricity production from fast moving vehicles and speed bumps. This project won the 4th prize at the state level and was selected for the national level competition.

D.Junior Chamber International, Vasco, had organized Jaycee Week on 16th & 17th July 2011. Out of 13 schools which participated from Mormugao Taluka, NCS emerged the overall winners securing the 1st position in Patriotic Group song, Effective Public Speaking, Face Painting& Quiz. NCS also won prizes in Just a Minute, Group Dance and Skit.

MUSIC: Rotary club, Panaji had organized State level Solo singing competition on 28th June 2011. Master Kedar Dicholkar won the 1st place and was awarded “Rotary Idol” 2010-2011.

ART: (1)Goa Science Centre organized a painting competition (senior category) on the occasion of Earth Day celebration on 22nd April 2011. Aishwarya Rath (Class VII) won the 1st prize.
(2)Ashish Rath (class IV) won the 1st prize in Drawing competition held on 22nd April 2011 organized by Future Generali.

(3)On 25th June 2011, 98.3 FM Radio Mirchi conducted a Drawing competition on World Environment Day. B.R. Nimisha class IV) won the 1st prize
SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS:
Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs organized U-14 Taluka level Table Tennis competition for Boys and Girls on 25th and 26th July 2011 at Chicalim Sports Complex.

The U-14 Girls secured the 2nd place and the U-14 and U-17 Boys, both secured 3rd place.
The Independence Day was celebrated with zeal and patriotism by the students and staff of NCS(G). The tri-colour was hoisted by the Headmistress, Mrs. Madhavi Sarvate.

The students sang the National Anthem and saluted the flag as a mark of respect to all the freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for our motherland. A colorful programme was organized by the enthusiastic students of the Choir group, NCC and Scouts and Guides. Interhouse Patriotic dance competition was held and Tagore house bagged the first prize.
FAREWELL : It was with a heavy heart that the students and staff of NCS(G) bid farewell to Mrs. Kanchan Chamola (PRT) .

OTHER EVENTS: 1)On 07th May 2011 a Throwball tournament was held between the Lady teachers and the girl students, in which the students won the match. 2) A cricket match between the male teachers and students was held and the students won the match.
